1.  Curling or Missing Shingles

Keeping track of the age of your roof helps to you know whether it’s worth making continued repairs or if replacing the roof altogether is your best option. Remember, your roof is continually wearing out with age, and other factors, such as weather extremes, may reduce its longevity. It’s always in you and your home’s best interest to replace a roof before leaks even start.

7. The Importance of Regular Inspections

While it’s advisable to inspect your roof from ground level, it’s not recommended that you go up on your roof to look for signs of damage, worn-out shingles, etc.

 

Instead, call a highly-skilled roofer to do regular inspections of your roof, and inspections when you can see damage from the ground. Regular inspections help keep your roof in good working order and help it to last longer.

 

It’s just as important to consult with your roofer as you’re deciding whether to replace your roof or not. In some cases, repair work can extend the life of your roof, while in others the damage and wear and tear are excessive enough to warrant a replacement.
